1 pkg of butterscotch chips
1 pkg rice noodles/chow mein noodles
candy "eggs"

Melt chips in a pyrex bowl, stirring every 15-30 seconds until melted.  Add noodles and stir gently to coat noodles.  Drop onto parchment lined cookie sheet and shape into a nest.  Top with any "eggs" you choose.

** I remember having these as a little girl.  I don't remember the nest in particular, but I remember the butterscotch and the noodles.  So yummy for my taste! I've made these the last two years and my kids love them!  I even make tiny ones just big enough for 1 egg.

 I did not know that making truffles was so simple.This months Daring Bakers challenge was making candies. Make Your Own Gluten-Free Lip Balm

Lip balm was a pitfall we missed when going gluten-free.  We spent endless time searching for something that was reasonably priced and didn't try to slip through the gluten-free net by using wheat germ oil.  While I have been assured by businesses that processing the wheat germ oil removes the gluten protein, there is debate as to whether it removes enough for those who are gluten sensitive below 20 ppm. Also, those sensitive to wheat itself in addition to the gluten protein can still react badly to wheat germ oil. As a bonus, most companies don't mention if their vitamin E oil is wheat-derived. So we finally gave up and made our own. Kefir Ranch Dressing or Veggie Dip

Have you jumped on the kefir bandwagon and discovered all of the amazing things you can use it in? We love these kefir smoothies , and consume them on an almost daily basis, but there's so much more to use  kefir  in! With our garden still producing like crazy, I sliced up some fresh vegetables and whipped up a batch of this yummy kefir veggie dip for my kid's after-school-snack. And yes all of the veggies shown in these pictures are from our garden (except the olives of course). What a great way to get your probiotics found in the kefir and all of the wonderful nutrients from the fresh vegetables.
